ANOTHER care home resident in Herefordshire has died with coronavirus, the latest official figures show.

Office for National Statistics data shows 66 residents at the county's care homes have died and had coronavirus mentioned on their death certificate.

It is the first death in a care home recorded in the figures since the week ending October 2.

The ONS data shows across the county, 139 deaths involving Covid-19 were provisionally registered in Herefordshire up to November 21.

Some 66 deaths have happened at hospital, and 73 elsewhere.

That includes 66 in care homes and four at private homes. Three deaths were in hospices.

The figures, published weekly, are based on where Covid-19 is mentioned anywhere on the death certificate. It does not give a location more specific than Herefordshire.

The data includes deaths up to November 13, but registered up to eight days later.

This is in contrast to daily figures from NHS England which only show patients who died at the Wye Valley NHS Trust after testing positive for coronavirus.

These figures from the NHS say there have been 73 deaths at the trust as of 4pm on Sunday (November 22).

As of 9am on Monday (November 24), 2,330 people in Herefordshire had tested positive for the virus since March, up by 21 from on Sunday.
