A new initiative will help to keep local produce markets alive, even though venues are hard to find because of the ongoing Covid crisis.
The Market to Your Door initiative plans to keep local food produce delivered across the Golden Triangle villages of North West Gloucestershire and South Herefordshire.
The producers of the Kempley, Newent and other local markets have joined forces to launch a crowd-funding initiative for a food van, which can travel from place to place and cancel the need for a venue.
Spokesman, Chris Bligh of Kempley said: "The markets of the north Dean are in freefall decline after the covid restrictions have closed their village hall venues, and the long-established market network is threatened with demise. The social consequences are immediate, and will have long-term impacts on community.
"The producers hope to convert a vehicle, with the backing of village consumers."
