A hedgehog rescue charity in Newent has been able to buy a new incubator thanks to a generous donation from a local housebuilder.
Newent Hedgehog Rescue, which celebrated its first birthday on October 22, is run by Cathie and Aaron Jones from their home in High Street to help save and protect hedgehogs in the area.
They were delighted to receive the £300 donation from Bellway, which is building new homes at Picklenash Grove off Ross Road in the town.
Cathie said: “We are very thankful to Bellway, as we really couldn’t do what we do without kind donations from individuals and companies.
“We are just a small rescue service, but we have grown a lot in the course of a year. And we are continuing to raise more money for vet bills and food bills, along with other supplies.”
Animal lovers, Cathie and Aaron set up the service after being contacted by a friend about a poorly hedgehog in St Mary’s Churchyard.
