THE coastguard helicopter was seen flying over Herefordshire on Monday morning, a rare sight in the landlocked county.
The red and white helicopter was seen flying south in the skies over Herefordshire, and a coastguard spokesperson has revealed the reason why.
Flightradar24 showed the Sikorsky S-92A chopper had come from Dolgellau in north Wales, and was flying west of Bromyard at around 9.15am on January 11.
Her Majesty's Coastguard has 10 helicopters at based across the UK, and the one flying over Herefordshire was destined for Hampshire.
A spokesperson said: "I've checked on this and it was indeed one of our aircraft en-route to our base at Lee-on-Solent in Hampshire, to be placed there."
