BUSINESS leaders from across Gloucestershire came together to discuss the impact of Covid and Brexit on the economy.
The event, organised in partnership by NatWest and Newsquest’s Gloucestershire titles – the Stroud News & Journal, Wilts & Glos Standard and Gazette Series – saw 12 representatives discuss the impact of the pandemic and Britain leaving the EU on the county’s economy, with a focus on the retail, hospitality and tourism industries.
Organisations represented at the event included Business West, Stroud & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce, Cotswold District Council, Dransfield which has developed the Five Valleys shopping centre in Stroud, Tewkesbury Park hotel, Veritas Hotels, Burleigh Court Hotel, Glenfall House hotel, NatWest and Newsquest.
Michael Purton, editor of Newsquest’s Gloucestershire titles, chaired the event. He said: “It was great to get so many industry experts together and we had a fascinating discussion about how the county’s retail, hospitality and tourism industries can recover from the unique challenges they currently face.
"Our thanks to NatWest for helping us to organise the event.”
