DRIVERS using a busy road into Hereford will face delays for three weeks as works start to repair flood damage.

Herefordshire Council said temporary traffic lights and a convoy system will be in place on the B4399 Holme Lacy Causeway for three weeks from Monday (March 8).

Recent flooding has caused damaged to the causeway, with the river Wye bursting its banks most recently on February 22.

The road was closed for a number of days, and even when the floodwater receded, Herefordshire Council's contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places had to inspect the road before reopening.
