Kiko Matthews rowed her way into the record books after completing an amazing feat to cross the Atlantic single-handed.

The 36-year-old reached Barbados in March 2018 having steered herself to victory on board Rannoch Adventure’s world-class carbon fibre boat. The former Hereford Cathedral School pupil clipped 11 days off the previous record to cross the ocean in 44 days, surviving 40ft waves, sleep deprivation, muscle pains, blisters, sea-sickness and loneliness in a bid to raise money for Kings College Hospital, where she was treated for a pituitary tumour.

Hereford Times:

Hollie Doyle was named The Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year for 2020.

Having broken her own record for the most winners in a calendar year by a female jockey, Doyle enjoyed a Champion Day double at Ascot - including her first victory at Group One level as Glen Shiel clung on by a nose in the British Champions Sprint.

Earlier in the campaign the 24-year-old, who grew up in Ivington, claimed her first Royal Ascot win aboard aboard Scarlet Dragon, while more recently she has been on her travels to ride at the Breeders' Cup in America and in the Bahrain International Trophy.
