As part of the recent National Nest Box Week, Barratt Homes teamed up with Ledbury Primary School and donated nest boxes, as well as digital 'bird themed' activities.

The national campaign encouraged UK residents to help create more homes for native birds and the leading developer has launched a digital bird quiz to encourage people to learn more about where their feathered friends live.

Created by Barratt Homes, the quiz features swifts, starlings, blue tits, robins, house martins, house sparrows and tawny owls; all of which match a distinctive nest box to encourage pupils to think about how different species require particular homes.

Ledbury Primary also received a donation of two nest boxes from Barratt Homes for the pupils to welcome birds to their shared environment and to learn more about their feathered friends.

Julie Rees, Headteacher at Ledbury Primary School, said: “The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the different birds and their unique habitats.

“Sincere thanks to Barratt Homes for providing the nest boxes which will hopefully attract more birds to our school grounds during the colder months of the year."
