DEVELOPERS want to build two detached homes in Ledbury.

Lucy Hawkins has asked Herefordshire Council for permission to build the three bedroom homes on vacant land next to No 1 and No 2 in New Mills off Hereford Road.

The plans also include new parking arrangements for the existing two houses.

Consultants working on the scheme say the new homes are designed to have a “very traditional appearance.”

The homes would be set back substantially within the site from the roundabout junction and feeder road.

“By setting the houses back and re-orientating then within the site, they sit similarly at the ‘gateway’ to the town, and no nearer to the roundabout junction, than those on the opposite side of the A438 in Sunshine Close,” the plan’s supporting statement reads.

OTHER STORIES:

“The proposed houses now align with the ‘building-lines’ of the new houses to both sides of the application site within Yeoman Close.

“The existing ‘storage building’ referred to is in fairly poor condition, and although only single-storey in height, it is very prominent from the adjacent roads.

“Its removal from the site will enhance the site visually from the surrounding area, particularly if replaced with trees and other planting.”

People have until April 25 to comment on the proposals on the county council’s planning portal.

Council planners are expected to consider the scheme by May 20.
