PEOPLE in Ross-on-Wye will be able to have their say on the town’s neighbourhood development plan next month.

The plan sets out the vision for growth in the market town and will influence future development if it is approved.

The NDP is divided into five objectives which Rossians have been consulted on.

These include protecting and enhancing all aspects of the environment, providing new homes, growing the economy, ensuring an accessible and well-connected town and protecting the town’s social and cultural assets.

The plan also includes a full section on development strategy and sites.

The NDP also includes sections on sites which would need further work before development could be supported and also practical projects.

hese are schemes that are not planning issues but ideas for work which would improve the town.

Steering group chairman Melvin Reynolds has called on the electorate in Ross take part in the referendum on May 6 and back the proposals.

“It will affirm those views, help ensure that Ross develops in a sustainable manner, and is able to resist pressures to build haphazardly,” he said.

The NDP can be viewed electronically through the Ross Town Council website at or the official Herefordshire NDP portal

Summaries of the NDP are available from the townb council offices at the Corn Exchange and will be available elsewhere in the town.
