A MAN has been handed a community order after multiple attacks on a woman.

Dumitru-Costin Anghel pleaded guilty to three assaults, one count of criminal damage, and one of using abusive and threatening words and behaviour when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford on April 1.

The court heard Anghel had assaulted a woman by beating on January 26. He assaulted the same woman by beating on February 9, and again on February 21, when he also deliberately damaged the victim's mobile phone and used threatening and abusive words and behaviour towards her.

Anghel was handed a two-year community order and an indefinite restraining order banning him from contacting or visiting the victim at her home and work address. He must also pay compensation of £600, costs of £200, and a £95 victim surcharge.
