Healthcare Assistant, Michelle, at Gwen Walford Nursing Home in Hereford has gone the extra mile for the residents in her home. As well as putting her all into her job as a Healthcare Assistant, she’s spent her free time crocheting personalised blankets for the residents as well!

Registered Manager at Gwen Walford and Hampton Grange Nursing Homes, Dan Bridges, wanted to commend Michelle for showing her commitment and passion. “She’s very dedicated to her role and this just proves she has the residents’ best interests at heart. Building relationships with the residents is very important for our staff members and the wellbeing of the residents. This is really fantastic to see, Michelle has really shown that she shares the Rotherwood Healthcare company values as well as being a very thoughtful gesture.”

Ida and Di, both pictured, have received blankets from Michelle so far with their names included in the design. The gift has made them both feel extra special. It’s also been great for the loved ones of the residents to see that they are in a loving and supportive environment.

Another resident of Gwen Walford Nursing Home, Elinor, recorded a video birthday message for her granddaughter’s 50th birthday this week! Elinor’s grandson-in-law kindly sent in a copy of the video for her to watch and some photos from the birthday celebrations. Elinor was so pleased to receive it all she was in tears.

Ledbury Reporter:

With many family members relying on Facebook and other social platforms to see what their loved ones have been up to throughout the last year, these are some lovely stories to hear. Hopefully, with visiting restrictions now easing and the vaccine being rolled out we will be able to reunite families once more.
