HEREFORD fans will be tuning up in preparation for the FA Trophy final at Wembley this month thanks to the creative zeal of one county supporter.

Eardisley man John Mokler has teamed up with a group of friends to produce a new song for Hereford FC, with an extra verse added on to celebrate the Bulls’ epic trip to the home of football on Saturday May 22, writes Sally Boyce.

John’s composition has been transcribed for him by friend and former musical director of Hereford Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Alan Durman while another pal, well-known local singer Cliff Spooner, has added the vocals.

“It was originally two verses,” explains John, who combines a love of both sport and music. “The third verse was added for the trip to Wembley.”

He added: “It was never thought likely that the club would go to Wembley again, albeit in a different competition.”

A series of CDs has since been cut at the Kingsland studios of his friend Josh Watkins and these are available to buy at £4 to include postage and packing or by sending a stamped addressed envelope with £2.50 cheque or postal order to him at Oaklands, Eardisley HR3 6PR (telephone 01544 327418)

It is hoped with the co-operation with the football club that the Hereford song will be beamed out across the hallowed pitch on the day ahead of the final.
