MOST OF US have exhausted our Netflix library and are eager to return to the big screen.

Cinemas across England are set to reopen from May 17- and there are some new movies to look forward to in the coming weeks.

This is also when the Rule of Six will return indoors, meaning you will be able to watch a film with up to five other people.

Screenings will include the new James Bond film No Time To Die, which has been delayed on numerous occasions due to the lockdown; Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway and the latest instalment of the long-running Fast & Furious franchise.

Here’s everything you need to know about cinemas reopening in Worcester- including the new rules you will have to follow and the movies that will be screening:

Where are cinemas in Worcester ?

There are two cinemas in Worcester- an Odeon cinema on Foregate Street and a Vue Cinema on Friar Street.

Vue Cinema confirmed that it will be reopening from 17 May.

In a Facebook post, they wrote: “The wait is almost over.

“We're delighted to announce that we'll be open soon and tickets are now on sale! We will be opening all our venues in England, Scotland and Wales on Monday 17 May.

“Our venues in the Republic of Ireland will remain closed for now in line with local government guidelines.”

While most Odeon cinemas are set to reopen in England, it's not yet known if the Worcester branch will be.

A spokesperson for Odeon cinema said: There are a very small number of cinemas which we have not yet reopened, and this includes ODEON Worcester.

"We will keep this under review and look forward to reopening here as soon as we are able.”

What are the new rules for cinemas reopening?

Cinemas may be reopening- but the cinematic experience won’t be quite the same.

Here are some of the rules and safety measures that will be in place at cinemas across the country:

Face coverings

Face masks and coverings must be worn unless you are eating or drinking.

Social distancing

Cinemas are limiting the number of seats for each film to guarantee there are unoccupied seats between parties of people.

They are also staggering show times to reduce queues. Floor markings will be visible to help you keep a safe distance from the people in front.

Contactless payment

Contactless and online payments are encouraged and all tickets will be checked visually.

At Vue, Tickets can be accessed from your smartphone - from your booking confirmation email, through the Vue app or in your Wallet and will be scanned before you go into the screen.

At the Odeon, they will no longer be accepting cash at all but have increased their contactless limits.

Track and Trace

Customers aged 16 and over will be asked to give details upon booking as part of the Test & Trace initiative.

The fastest way to do this is with the NHS Track  and Trace app.
