WORK has began on a new 'more permanent' Covid-19 testing facility in Hereford.
The testing site on the Merton Meadow car park, off Edgar Street in Hereford, is to be constructed this week and opens on Monday.
The previous drive-through testing centre has move to the opposite side of the City Link Road making way for the permanent site.

Earlier this week Sarah Smith, Herefordshire public health consultant, said: “As we respond to changing needs we must focus our resources where they are needed most in the county.
"I would like to encourage anyone with Covid symptoms to book a test and self-isolate, to help stop the spread of the virus.”
Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should book a test online or dial 119 from any phone to book, the council said.
Symptom-free testing is also available in Herefordshire, with more information on the council's website.
