THE driver of a HGV swerving between lanes and hitting traffic cones was found to be over the drink drive limit Worcestershire police have said.

The driver, who was stopped by county officers overnight, was reported by drivers on the M42 and M5 motorways.

Police took an image of the HGV and tweeted: "Officers stop HGV with a 20 ton load to find the driver three times over the drink drive limit, blowing a whopping 109.

"Taxi for one please to custody."

Meanwhile police have tweeted about another incident in which a police dog found a suspect who tried to hide after being chased on foot.

Police said: "Vehicle failed to stop for Operation Worcestershire, driver decamped and lost during foot chase.

"Police dog Rhino begins area search when an officer spots movement.

"Rhino (spotted) suspect hiding behind bins #goodspot #policedogs #oneincustody."
