MORE than 100 homes and businesses in one Herefordshire town are without power this afternoon after cables were damaged.

Western Power Distribution said 118 properties in Bromyard were without electricity as of 3pm on Thursday.

Engineers were seen in Firs Orchard, and Western Power Distribution said the reason for the outage was "third party damage" to the network.

An online map on the electricity distribution company's website shows homes in Winslow Road and Firs Orchard were among those affected. Supply was expected to be restored by 7.30pm.

Ledbury Reporter:

"We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 12.58pm this afternoon and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible," it said.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
