Following earlier reports of a broken down vehicle causing four-mile-long queues, traffic on the M5 has now gotten worse.

One lane has been closed due to a broken down lorry on the M5 Southbound between junction's five and six.

After one of the hottest weeks of the year the M5 was expected to be busier than usual.

This issue has been further exacerbated by the end of the school term, with many heading off on staycations.

There are also reports of queues backing up six miles on the Northbound side between junctions four and four A, leading to congestion near the Droitwich area.

This was caused by an earlier accident and has caused congestion on the Northbound A38 Birmingham Road through to Bromsgrove.

All lanes now reopen however short delays are still expected.
