A DOMESTIC abuse charity that operates in Herefordshire has launched a new service specifically for young people.
West Mercia Women’s Aid has received funding from The Ministry of Justice to create four new positions to deliver an initiative targeted at 13 to 19 year olds.
The new Young Persons Independent Domestic Violence Advisors will cover each of the charity’s four operating areas, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Sue Coleman, Chief Executive Officer at West Mercia Women’s Aid said: “Protecting our young people and helping them make positive life choices regarding relationships is at the heart of this new service and we look forward to reporting on its success.”
West Mercia Women’s Aid in Herefordshire has a free, confidential helpline that is available 24 hours a day on 08007 831359.
