THE Christmas lights in both Bromyard and Newent are due to be switched on tomorrow.

In Bromyard the event gets underway at 5.15pm with carols in the square following the arrival of the lantern parade that sets off from the Conquest Theatre at 5pm.

In Newent, there will be a Christmas Market on Church Street from 2-6pm. Santa will lead a parade to the Market House for the switch-on at 5pm. Organisers say there will be children’s fairground rides and “guaranteed snow”.

People in Ledbury will have to wait until Saturday, December 4, for their town’s switch-on event.

However, in the meantime the Nest at Little Verzons Farm is holding its annual Christmas market ‘festiveNest’ this weekend. The event runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. On the first day there will be a visit from Trevor Hill’s reindeer. For details, visit nestledbury.co.uk.
