AUTHOR, comedian and Radio 4 regular Robin Ince will give a talk in Ledbury about why science isn’t just for the professionals.
Robin abandoned science at school, bored by a fog of dull lessons and intimidated by the barrage of equations. But, 20 years later, he fell in love and he now presents a popular science podcasts and The Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox.
As well as charting Robin’s own journey with science, his new book, The Importance of Being Interested explores why many wrongly think of the discipline as distant and difficult.
From the glorious appeal of the stars above to why scientific curiosity can encourage much needed intellectual humility.
Copies of the book will be available on the night.
This event will take place at the Old Grammar school on Church Lane. There is no disabled or wheelchair access at the venue.
The talk on Wednesday, November 24, begins at 7pm and tickets at £7.50 are available via courtyard.org.uk.
