Police say the M50 is now clear after a car fire caused a section to be closed earlier today.
Officers had closed the motorway, between junction 2 and junction 3 on the Ross-on-Wye bound carriageway.
A diversion was in place, with traffic being taken off at junction 2 and along the A417 to Ledbury then the A449 towards Ross.
West Mercia Police said Hereford and Worcester Fire Service had been dealing with the car fire.
A fire service spokesman said: "Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 1.12pm on January 13 to a car on fire on the M50 Westbound between junctions one and two. A Gloucestershire appliance attended the incident."
