A Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist will be performing at a Ledbury pub this weekend.

Pippa Langhorne reached the latter stages of the TV talent show in 2011 alongside her dog Buddy, who howled while she sang.

The Worcester-based singer will be performing at The Oak Inn at Staplow on Sunday, January 30 from 6.30pm.

Pippa will be singing a selection of jazz and opera classics.

Chris Howell, landlord at The Oak, said Pippa being able to perform at the pub in-person has been a long time coming.

“Pippa sang on a social media group during lockdown to help cheer everyone up,” he said. “We were amazed by her range as she can sing opera, jazz and classic songs from theatre and film.

“We've booked her four times thus far and each time it has been cancelled because of different lockdowns and restrictions.

“So finally, 12 months later, she will be performing live this Sunday.

“There are live music and supper nights on the last Sunday of every month. Once the weather gets better we will take the music events outside and even have a reggae evening planned.”

Tickets to the Live Music & Supper Club are £19.99 and include either a chicken curry, a veggie curry or a beef chilli. To book, call the pub on 01531 640954.

The Oak, which posts a daily Covid update on its Facebook page, has said it will keep its Covid measures in place despite the Government’s plan to ease Plan B restrictions this week.

Mr Howell said safety measures have been in place since the end of the first lockdown in 2020 and that many regular customers feel safe and reassured by them.
