A WONDERFUL selection of food producers will be selling their wares at Ledbury’s Charter Market on Saturday.

The Beefy Boys, All Plants, Mazane, Taynton Farm, Delice and Divine Donuts will all be at Ledbury Charter Market on Saturday, 5 February 8:30am - 5:00pm.

We caught up with the Beefy Boys to find out what they are all about.

“The Beefy Boys is the definition of a drunken BBQ thats seriously got out of hand.

We started about 8 years ago as 4 college friends (Anthony Murphy, Lee Symonds, Daniel Mayo Evans, Christian Williams) mucking around cooking Burgers and BBQ in our back gardens in Hereford, our friends and family thought it was great so we decided to enter a competition in Bristol called Grillstock.

“Grillstock was a BBQ festival where various teams could enter to compete to be King of The Grill. As four total novices, we thought it would just be a bit of fun.

“We won best burger at Grillstock and because of that, we got entered into the World Burger Championships in Las Vegas to represent the UK.

“We thought we would fly over there come last, have a great holiday and fly back home. Somehow we managed to come 2nd in the world.

“It was from that point that everything changed, we would do a pop up in our home town and instead of just 20 or so people turning up we literally had 500-600 people showing up with us feverishly trying to cook burgers on a tiny little bbq to keep up with demand. In those early days it was a 2 hour wait for a burger.

“We very quickly turned our hobby into a business and since then we ve opened our first restaurant in Hereford in 2016 and expanded it last year.

“As well as dine-in food we have also been the most popular deliveroo in the city for the last 3 years. and in 2021 we opened our second restaurant in Shrewsbury.

“We will be serving a selection of our classic burgers and fries in Ledbury.”
