The Masked Singer reached its conclusion at the weekend with plenty of fans waiting to see if Panda was revealed to be Worcestershire singer Cher Lloyd.

The series, which is presented by comedian Joel Dommett, sees celebrities perform in elaborate disguises while a panel of judges and viewers try to work out their true identities.

Clues left by the contestant known to viewers as Panda had left some speculating it could be Cher Lloyd, the Malvern pop star who shot to fame on another ITV show, The X-Factor in 2010.

Even during Saturday’s final, fans were taking to Twitter convinced it was the 28-year-old hiding behind the mask.

Panda ended up winning Saturday’s final, but was eventually revealed to be ‘Torn’ singer Natalie Imbruglia.

The former Neighbours star said: “When I put the costume on, I just became Panda. One of the best compliments was when Mo said I was funny. I’ve never been funny before!”

Fellow contestants Mushroom and Robobunny were also unmasked during the final and were revealed to be Welsh singer Charlotte Church and Westlife star Mark Feehily respectively.

Season two winner Joss Stone joined series regulars Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora on the judging panel for the final, which was watched by a peak of 7.8million viewers.

ITV has since confirmed there will be at least two more seasons of the popular show.

The broadcaster has commissioned production company Bandicoot Scotland to make two more series.
