An award-winning blues band is coming to Malvern Jazz, Blues & Swing Club this weekend.

Fret and Fiddle formed in 2001 as a duo when founders Sally and Andy discovered they had a mutual enthusiasm for ‘The Hot Club de France’ and in particular the musical legends that founded it, guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.

Now a quintet, Fret and Fiddle evoke the early Hot Club days from the swinging Parisian nightclubs of the 1920s.

The band offer that special something that is just that little bit different, quirky and imaginative and play swing tunes, gypsy music, klezmer and blues.

Club treasurer Neil Thwaites said: “We are so thrilled to welcome Fret and Fiddle to the club. They are entertaining, refreshing and highly accomplished musicians.

“We very much look forward to a superb evening of swinging jazz and blues”.

For this session on Sunday, March 6, doors open at 7pm and the band will play from 8pm to 10.30pm (including interval). Tickets are £10 cash on the door.

Live music fans can head to the club’s website www.malvernjazz.co.uk for more information and further details of all upcoming events.
