POLICE have arrested four males on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Worcester.

A 34-year-old man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, with serious internal injuries after being stabbed in the stomach. 

Police have said his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

The stabbing took place in Park Street, off Wyld's Lane, just after 11pm on Wednesday, (May 25).

Following a police search two men, aged 20 and 21, and two 17-year-olds were arrested and taken into custody. Police say they are still in custody this afternoon.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the stabbing to come forward.

Inspector Fergus Green said: "This was a violent incident which has left a man with serious injuries and we are determined to find out what happened and bring those responsible to justice.

"If you saw anything or have any information we urge you to come forward. Any information you give would be treated in the strictest confidence."
