LOVE was in the air as a man pulled off the perfect plane proposal.
Jed Maliyil had spent months planning the amazing proposal and a number of surprises which all paid off as his now fiance Ola Pawlik called it the “best day of my life”.
Miss Pawlik said the emotional proposal began when Mr Maliyil had suggested they went up the Malvern Hills to test out new hiking boots.
“I noticed the stunt plane fly towards us and it started doing beautiful aerobatics in the sky, drawing lovehearts with the smoke,” Miss Pawlik said.
“I was mesmerised but then I felt Jed tap me on my back.
“I turned around to find him on one knee.
“I absolutely did not see it coming. It was wonderful and took me all my strength not to cry.”
The 28-year-old bride-to-be said her boyfriend had remembered something she had said about loving skywriting years ago, and after looking into it he discovered that was illegal.
But, undeterred, he organised the next best thing with the plane drawing the hearts with smoke in the sky last Saturday, (May 21).
The plane caught the eye of Malvern residents, Will Gowing among those filming it.
I organised a flypast over our house for Steve’s birthday today… that’s what I told him anyway 😜🥳✈️#Avgeeks #Avgeek #Malvern #MalvernHills #Worcestershire pic.twitter.com/Xb3yEiwA1v

The pair, from Naunton Beaucamp, are junior doctors who have worked at Worcestershire Royal Hospital throughout the pandemic, after moving from London when they had met while studying.
Miss Pawlik explained she hadn’t seen her parents who live in Dubai for over a year-and-a-half and messaged them straight after the proposal - but Mr Maliyil, 26, had another surprise planned.
Day of surprises for Ola Pawlik after plane proposal
“On my way home I messaged them that I had something important to tell them and would call,” she said.
“When we got home I went upstairs to find that my parents were both waiting for me.
“I nearly fell down the stairs, I couldn’t believe it.
“We then went out for dinner that evening.
"I just thought a few of us were going to Bottles Wine Bar, only to find that Jed had organised a surprise engagement party with our families, friends and neighbours.
“It was an absolute whirlwind day and the best day of my life – we are so happy.”
