POLICE descended on a home in a Herefordshire street this morning to arrest two people suspected to be involved in drug offences.
Officers from Hereford's Safer Neighbourhood Team pulled up in Moreton-on-Lugg's Cedar Close just before 8am this morning to make a repeat visit to a home they had raided with a warrant in September last year.
On that occasion, they were able to make their way in to the home without forcing entry, found around £1,100 of cannabis stashed in the home.
They had also found small wraps of the drug, £250 cash, one cannabis plant, a BB gun, and various items of drug paraphernalia during the previous visit.
Today's (June 10) arrests were made after further investigations and more intelligence was gathered by police, with PCSO Adam Westlake telling the Hereford Times that officers were acting on concerns raised by people living in the area that drug dealing may be taking place at the home.
A strong smell of cannabis was evident in the street as officers made their way into the home this morning, again without needing to use force.
Two people were arrested and taken into custody in Hereford, while a search of the property revealed a number of jars containing around two ounces of cannabis in total, £850 in cash, and mobile phones, which were seized as evidence.
