AN ACCUSED Ledbury man has been sent for trial after denying allegations of stalking.

Brogan McCarthy, of Oakland Drive, appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster accused of three counts of stalking involving fear and violence. He was also convicted of one count of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of criminal damage.

The court heard the 19-year-old is accused of pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to stalking of a woman in Ledbury between April 17 and May 28, sending an anonymous letter, sitting on the doorstep of her home, sending text messages, and spray painting a penis on a fence facing her garden.

He is also accused of pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to stalking of a second woman in Ledbury between February 10 and April 19, sending numerous social media messages, creating fake social media accounts, and sitting on the doorstep of her home.

He is further accused of pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to stalking of a man in Ledbury between April 19 and 26, sitting on the doorstep of his home, following him to and around Tesco, emailing, and making a phone call to his workplace.

McCarthy was convicted of assaulting a police officer acting in the course of his duties by beating in Herefordshire on May 30 and damaging a police car in Herefordshire on the same date.

McCarthy was bailed with conditions not to contact the complainants and to abide by a curfew monitored with electronic tag.

He will appear before magistrates in Worcester for trial on August 15.
