A TEMPORARY speed limit will come into force on a main road in Herefordshire next month to help cope with extra traffic.

Herefordshire Council said the speed limit on a 1.7-mile stretch of A438 at Eastnor, near Ledbury, would be cut from 60mph to 30mph for seven days.

The speed limit would be in force on the A438 from the A449 Worcester road junction to Rose Cottage in the village.

In a public notice, the council said the restriction is needed to slow the traffic while the Lakefest festival is on and the likelihood of danger to the public while there was more traffic.

It will come into force on Wednesday, August 10 and be in place for seven days.
