The timings of road closures have been announced ahead of a road rally coming to Ledbury in September.

The Hills Ford 3 Shires Stages Closed Road Rally is being held on roads around the town on September 18.

This means some roads will be closed at certain times of the day - and it has now been confirmed that this will all take place between 7am and 6pm.

Access timing schedules are still being refined by organisers Cheltenham Motor Club, but rough timings have been released to give residents an idea of what to expect.

The rally is split into four sections, with each being used three times to make 12 rally stages in total.

According to the latest approximate timings, which are subject to change, the first section Petty France will be closed from 8.22am to 10.41am, 11.16am to 1.35pm, and 2.11pm to 4.29pm.

The Bromesberrow section will be closed from 8.40am to 10.56am, 11.34am to 1.50pm, and 2.29pm to 4.45pm.

The Okle Green area will be shut from 9.11am to 11.29am, 12.05pm to 2.23pm, and 3pm to 5.18pm.

A section called Shaw Common will be closed from 9.28am to 11.47am, 12.21pm to 2.40pm and 3.17pm and 5.36pm.

Chances to meet rally organisers

Rally organisers will be in Ledbury town centre on Saturday, July 23 between 8.30am and 4pm to discuss residents’ concerns and provide information.

They have already visited Gorsley Village Hall and Coddington Church this month.

Further ‘Meet Us’ events will take place at the Dean Classic Car and Rally Car Show in Ruardean on Saturday, August 13, and in Ledbury again on Saturday, August 20.

The rally itself takes place on the weekend for September 17 and 18. In previous years a ceremonial start happens on the Saturday, with the race itself taking place on the Sunday.

Traditionally held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, this year’s event will be based in Ledbury and headquartered at HJ Pugh & Co Auction Centre, off Ross Road.
