ARTIST Lesley Brankin is staging an exhibition of her work at the Weavers Gallery in Ledbury.

Until quite recently Lesley, from Malvern, was best known for her multi-award winning textiles and innovative textile work but on developing a health condition she was advised to consider changing her artistic practice.

Finding a new direction has taken her a while but she is now starting to find her feet and is holding her first exhibition of art at Weavers Gallery.

‘Making My Mark’ is a solo exhibition of contemporary art which will be taking place from Tuesday 19 to Sunday 24 July at Weavers Gallery, Church Lane, Ledbury HR8 1DW. (10am to 4pm daily, free admission)

Renowned for her multi-award winning textiles Lesley has recently turned her hand to painting and will be showcasing a collection of mixed media art works inspired by her love of mark making.

Subjects will range from local landscapes to intuitive geometric abstracts.

Lesley is looking forward to welcoming you in person and sharing her techniques at her daily demonstrations.

Please note that as Weavers is a first floor gallery with no lift access I feel that this should be mentioned.

"Mark making is my passion. The possibilities for creating something exciting using just a few considered pencil lines, or free flowing swishes from an inky brush, are endless," said Lesley.

"Although I might start with a specific idea, I generally work intuitively by allowing a particular piece to engage me in conversation until such time as intuition tells me it is complete.”
