ON Saturday the Ledbury Carnival Princess Evie, and her attendants Mila and Florence were able to present the Andy Ward Memorial Trophy, a voucher for a meal for 2 at The Talbot Hotel and flowers to the winner of a Photographic Competition, Mrs Brenda Hill.
The presentation was appropriately made at the start of 'Andyfest'',an event to remember Mr Ward who passe away earlier this year, and was former landlord of the Talbot Hotel.
Mrs Hill had entered a photograph of herself in the Childrens Fancy Dress competition of the 1955 Carnival as a 'Jack in the Box' in a costume made by her mother.
Her mother then pushed her through Ledbury to the Carnival held on the Langlands.
Brenda, a former Carnival Committee member and Princess Co-Ordinator had known Andy since the early 2000's having met a Carnival meeting.
For many years, Mrs Hill has successfully entered the 'Adult Fancy Dress' with her varied and colourful outfits but says that she is now retiring from her participation.
She will certainly be missed in the Procession.
