Forecasters at the Met Office said it will be dry and sunny today, with conditions heating up even further over the coming days.
Today (Monday, August 8) will see very prolonged periods of sunshine with light winds and maximum temperatures of 28 °C.
The heat will continue into the evening, with clear skies and no rainfall predicted. Forecasters said it will be a warm night with minimum temperatures of 9 °C.
Tuesday will again be dry and sunny, with maximum temperatures of 30 °C, with the dry weather set to continue through to the end of the week.
Temperatures will continue to climb on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, making it feel increasingly hot, the Met Office said.
