Ofsted has recognised a Ledbury nursery as "outstanding" in every category, praising the "nurturing, home-from-home" environment that they provide. 

Jack in the Box (Bosbury) Ltd @ Crib Cottage nursery was inspected on September 8 and inspectors were thoroughly impressed by the education, care and leadership provided.

The nursery provides care to children aged two and under.

Inspectors found children enter the nursery with confidence and are met with "a wealth of resources that stimulate their curiosity and create awe and wonder".

They found the atmosphere calm and soothing which aided in providing excellent behaviour from the children. 

Ofsted praised staff for treating children with "kindness and respect", encouraging children to reflect this behaviour. 

Inspectors added that managers recognise the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on children, particularly their social skills and lived experiences. 

However, Ofsted found that the staff at Jack in the Box work hard to fill these gaps.

Jackie Barratt, managing director at the nursery, said: “Jack In The Box opened in 1997, and I have frequently been asked over the years if I would be able to provide care and education for children under 2. 

"I always felt that if I were to offer this facility to parents, it needed to be of exceptional quality. 

"I wanted to set up a small nursery that felt like an extension of the babies and children’s home; a stepping stone to cross from home into the nursery world, before taking the next big step to our Leadon Lodge Nursery.
