A ROAD in Herefordshire is set to close for three weeks due to scaffolding being erected.

Herefordshire Council said a rural road near Staunton-on-Wye, west of Hereford, would be closed from Monday, February 27.

In a public notice, the council said that the C1087 Pig Street in Norton Canon would be closed 100 metres on either side of the bridge parapet.

It was due to scaffold installation and parapet remedial works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.

The diversion route will take drivers via the C1087 and onto the A4112 near Kinnersley, the A438 Brecon Road and then back to the C1087 from the C1088 and vice versa.
