It is that time of year again when the Carnival Association begin to look for a new Prince or Princess, and Attendants to represent them during the coming year.

The 2023 Carnival 'Countryside Fun' will take place on Monday August 28 in the streets of the town.

Judging and an informal tea will take place on Sat 20th May at noon at the Royal British Legion.

The successful candidates will represent the Association in a number of Annual Events around town such as opening the October Fair and switching on the Christmas lights as well as other events as they arise.

Of course, the highlight of the year will be to travel at the head of the Carnival Procession on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Previous Princesses have said how much they had enjoyed their year and had met lots of interesting people and been able to do things they had never thought they would, whilst parents commented on how the winners had grown in confidence throughout their year representing Carnival and also how they had also enjoyed themselves.

The current Carnival Princess, Jessica, and Attendants, Mila, Lily-May and Florence, were invited with their parents, to attend a special afternoon tea, sponsored by Mrs Hilary Jones, to thank them for representing the Carnival Association so well during the year.

Hosted by Co-Ordinators Alesa Halford and Sarah Fleeting the girls were treated to a traditional tea-party.

If your youngster is aged between 8 and 10 on August 28th 2023 and is available on that date, please encourage them to complete an application form and take part.

Entry forms are available from Choccotastic in the Homend Mews and should be returned by the May 6.
