The chief executive of a Ledbury charity is stepping down.

But Lee Gough will continue at Megan Baker House in a new role.

Mrs Gough has led the charity, which helps children and adults overcome movement difficulties caused by neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, Parkinson’s, stroke, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury, for 12 years.

She will now act as development director, focusing on building and maintaining relationships through networking, to increase philanthropic support and attract new clients who would benefit from MBH services.

“My time as CEO has been very rewarding as it is a great privilege to be able to help such a wonderful organisation,” she said.

“I have always had a very supportive group of trustees who bring a wide range of experiences to the board.

“There have been many challenges over the years but with a highly professional and dedicated team of Conductive Education specialists and support staff, we have weathered them all and grown the number we help by 50 percent.

“We celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2022 with a ball in March of this year which raised an astounding £19,000.

“I am looking forward to helping MBH become Herefordshire’s worst kept secret instead of its best one. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years and please continue to do so.”

Chair of the board of trustees, Dr Richard Wileman, said: “The Board of Trustees are delighted to be retaining Lee who, in recent years and despite the extremely difficult times that we and the wider country have all faced, has steered MBH from strength to strength.

“For the past 12 years as CEO, Lee has done this with the support of our amazing staff who have been instrumental in making the plans become reality and, by doing so, have provided much needed support, care and love to our clients and their wider families.

“Without MBH, its leadership team and its staff, our clients would, in many cases, have nowhere to turn. I am grateful to Lee and everyone at MBH for the part they have played and continue to play, in delivering the services that MBH provides to the community.”
