DOZENS of tractors gathered in Herefordshire to raise vital funds for a lifesaving service this month.
Sunday, July 9, saw 62 tractors descend on Treago Farm, St Weonards to participate in the tractor run in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Drivers had brought their pride and joy from all over Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Shropshire and as far afield as Breconshire to raise over £2,000 for the cause (with still more donations to count).
After a welcome tea and cake, then it was time for the off with route plotter Ron Evans leading the pied piper procession of tractors heading easterly to the staggered junction at Trevannon Farm where they picked up the farm track which was the first off-road section they encountered.
The group headed across Rhydicar to the Pikes, then on to the main road for a stretch to Llanwarne.
They then picked up the lanes again taking in the communities of Pencoyd, Tretire, Llangarron to Welsh Newton.
Here the tractors did another short stretch on the main road before turning off to head for Garway and the welcome lunch break.
They then off again through the hamlets of Garway Hill, Bagwyllidiart, to Orcop, and retracing their steps back to Treago.
Everyone agreed what a great run it had been.
The organisers would like to thank all landowners, helpers and participants who made the run possible.
