EXCITEMENT is building for Ledbury Carnival this year.

Organisers are looking for a gardener who wants some horse manure among other roles.

Saturday saw the launch of the slimmed down version of the Ledbury Carnival Programme,

produced and edited by Chairman Johnny Chan, coinciding with the first Saturday morning of

Raffle sales.

Thomas and Lilibeth (Prince and Princess) handed the first ticket and programme

to Ledbury Mayor, Cllr. Helen L'Anson at the Market House in the town.

Prizes for the raffle are arriving and being promised, almost every day for which we are very

grateful.

Prizes so far include £100 cash, a meal for 4 donated by the Talbot, a family day out to Cotswold Wildlife Park donated by One Stop and many other assorted goodies.

Tickets will be on sale every Saturday between 10 and 12 by the Market House.

In other Carnival news, entries are still invited to take part in the Procession whether with a float, fancy dress or entry into our new class, that of Decorated Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs.

Stalls have until the August 19 to apply for a space, although there are already enough food stalls.

Stewards are needed to help on the day to ensure the safety and enjoyment of others.

If you are able to spare an hour or so please get in touch.

We can't offer payment but a tasty burger and coffee will be available.

Most importantly, we are looking for a 'fit and keen gardener' who would like some free horse manure, and is willing to walk the procession route behind Reg and his lady friend, (2 shire horses from Westons) and clean up as they travel through town.

A wheelbarrow and shovel are available if needed.
