Last Saturday was the second week of Carnival Raffle sales in the town centre.

We were joined by representatives of Eastnor Lodge of Freemasons No.751, Paul Finlay, Charity Steward and Paul Gowerek, Master of Eastnor Lodge who presented a generous donation to Carnival Prince, Thomas whilst Princess Lilibeth and Attendant Anavae presented them with programmes.

The money received will be used towards the general costs to stage Carnival and was much appreciated by the committee.

Further sponsorship has also been received during the week with similar generous sum being made by Redkite which is to be used for the Children's and Disability Classes in the Parade.

With cuts to prize money this year resulting in Trophies and Certificates only for Adult Classes, and smaller cash prizes, Trophies and Certificates for the youngsters, this is a wonderful news for the organisers.

‘Ledbury Carnival Association very much appreciate the generous support of The Helping Hand Company, Ledbury, in designing, making  and funding new brightly coloured signage to provide advance information regarding the Carnival.  Replacement signage was well overdue and these new ones can be used in promoting the Carnival for years to come.   The signs will be at the main entrances to the Town:  Gloucester Road, Hereford Road, Ross Road, Dymock Road, Bromyard Road and Worcester Road.  (The printing of the signs was carried out by Office Solutions Worcester).

Chris Isherwood, General Manager of The Helping Hand Company said:

“The Helping Hand Company is very happy to be supporting one of the major events in the Ledbury town.  We know the costs of hosting this event have increased significantly over the last number of years, and it is great we can offer some support to ensure this great community event can continue to provide entertainment and enjoyment for many people in the area.”

Ledbury Carnival depends upon and is very grateful for the many aspects of community support that it receives during the year to enable this lovely family event to go ahead’.

Plans for the day itself are progressing well with more floats expected and extra stalls booked to appear. Entertainment plans have all been finalised and can be seen in our updated Carnival Programme and on our website : www.ledburycarnival.co.uk
