A landmark Ledbury pub is to reopen this week.

And the new landlords will be familiar faces to Ledbury pub goers.

The Full Pitcher, which has been closed for months, will officially reopen at 5pm on Friday (August 25).

It is being taken over by Andy Hoyle and Jacqui Burns, who had been in charge of the Royal Oak at Much Marcle pre-Covid.

For the past couple of years, the couple have been running the Robin Hood in Monmouth - and are looking to bring the same mix of good food and live music to the Full Pitcher.

“We’ve got the keys and we’re opening on Friday at 5pm,” said Andy.

“It’ll just be drinks on the first night and a small, basic menu over the weekend as the kitchen’s not ready yet, then we’ll start a full menu next week.”

In time, Andy and Jacqui are also looking to bring carveries back to the Full Pitcher.

“I’m the chef and the food quality will be good,” said Andy. “And we’re hoping to do carveries a couple of times a week.”

Andy said the family is excited to get going at the Full Pitcher after pub company Stonegate asked them to move up from Monmouth.

“It has the potential to be a really cracking pub - it’s in a great location with plenty of space and we’re going to make a real go of it,” he said.

“We already know a lot of people there and we think we’re the right family to do it.”

Customers will get a taste of the kind of live music to expect at the pub from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday (August 27), when Robbie Williams tribute act Tony As Robbie comes to town.

“We honestly believe you will not see a better tribute anywhere in the UK,” the pub said in a Facebook post.

“He really is the spitting image of Robbie himself. He tours all over the world and recent gigs have included him travelling to Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany Dubai and the party capital of Ibiza.”
