A NEW café and bar is set to open in Hereford's Maylord Orchards.

Pre will be run by Wobbly Taphouse and is aiming to open its doors on September 7 and the site where the Life & Soul Kitchen was based.

On its Facebook page, Wobbly Taphouse said it will offer and a day time café and a perfect pre-club evening local.

"We're local and independent meaning we will deliver quality for less. Whether you're going to enjoy our cafe delights in the day, or our beers, lagers, ciders, cocktails or mixers in the evening, you wont find quality for less.

"Make Pre your go-to daytime cafe or your evening starting point and enjoy party atmosphere, regular DJ's and bands, amazing staff at Herefords best prices."

The venue will open as a café from 8am to 4pm before it then turns into a bar. And on Thursday nights, there will be regular live bands performing, which include open mic nights.

Wobbly Taphouse is situated in Beech Business Park near Roman Road. However, the firm wanted to have a city centre presence.

"We're recognised on the outskirts of the city but a lot of people have asked us to open in town," said manager Paul McClurey.

"All of our food and drink will be locally sources and we will have pizzas.

"We want to give customers a wider variety of ales and believe the prices will be competitive."

The Wobbly Taphouse is currently hosting a free weekend festival which continues today (Monday).

As well as a number of acts performing, there is also a BBQ, ice creams, a bouncy castle and a tour of the brewery.
