LEDBURY could soon get an “old-fashioned community pub” targeting more mature drinkers.
An application by Event Pro Fest of Dudley seeks permission to serve alcohol between 11am and midnight seven days a week at 4 New Street, Ledbury, previously home to the Navigator clothing shop.
This is to now become a Weavers pub, following the opening of a similar venue in Malvern in November 2021 and two longer-established pubs in Kidderminster.

It is unrelated to the Weavers gallery in Ledbury’s Church Lane.
“A typical Weavers outlet carries 40 specialist gins, two high-end lagers, six ciders and six craft ales,” the licensing application explains.
“They will be like an old-fashioned community pub based on good-quality beer and excellent service.

“There will be no amplified music. They serve no hot food but provide filled cobs. They are dog-friendly.”
The pub will “appeal to walkers, backpackers and the mature generation in Ledbury” and will offer a 5 per cent loyalty discount to OAPs and Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members.
Comment on the application can be made via Herefordshire Council’s licensing webpage until October 23.
