A HARASSER has been up before the magistrates after messages, calling, and visiting a woman in Herefordshire.

Richard Tweedale admitted one count of harassment without violence when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in October.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 37-year-old had pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment, and which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of a woman in Ledbury between February 17 and March 5.

He had sent her messages, made phone calls, and attended her address, the court heard.

Tweedale, of Bishopstone Road, Hereford, was fined £80 for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
