A POPULAR coaching inn on the Herefordshire border is up for sale.

Well-established pub The Farmer's Boy Inn is on the market with agents Nationwide Business Sales for offers over £825,000.

The pub at Longhope, near Ross-on-Wye, has a "formidable" business reputation, the agents said, having won over 45 awards for their pies. 

It has also been handed a top rating on TripAdvisor, ranking among the top 10 per cent of hotels and restaurants worldwide.

The pub's Mad About Pies company is included in the sale, the agents said, with the established branding offering further opportunities for the buyer to explore.

The agents said there is also the possibility of developing a second floor across the site and "significantly increasing the size of the property", as substantial parts of the property are currently single-storey.

The pub, which dates in part back to the 17th century, currently has four dining areas offering over 120 covers and further seating outside, and eight ensuite letting rooms

It sits on a half-acre plot with a large car park and enclosed beer garden with seating for up to 150.

There is potential for further development in the garden, the agents said.
