A HEREFORD city car park will be closing every night to allow for essential works.

Garrick House car park, Hereford will now be closed daily from 6pm to 3am, a Herefordshire Council spokesperson said.

The closure is to facilitate essential upgrades to lighting and electrical points.

The multi-storey car park, in Hereford's Widemarsh Street, is used by many in the city, including hospital workers with season passes.

Alternative parking can be found at nearby Merton Meadow or Venns Close Car Parks, where season ticket holders may use during the closed periods, the council spokesperson said.

James Hughes, parking services manager, said: “These essential upgrade works will help to improve the parking offer at Garrick House car park.

"We currently expect works to be fully completed by week commencing December 4. In the meantime, I would like to thank users of the car park for their patience and understanding."
