A Ledbury nursery has celebrated being nominated for two national awards.

Jack in the Box Nursery in Bosbury was among the finalists in two categories at the National NMT Nursery Awards.

It was nominated for the Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment Award and the Forest or Beach School Award.

Jack in the Box was also shortlisted for the Nursery World Awards for its outdoor environment.

Nursery manager Georgina Johnson Palmer said: “We have had an amazing month.

“As a small, independent nursery we were recognised alongside some of the best in the industry and are so proud to have been shortlisted.

“We were the only nursery in our county to be shortlisted for the NMT and were so proud to be recognised for our approach in two categories.

“We have also this week been featured in a leading early years magazine for our efforts to promote staff wellbeing through the year and particularly in the winter with our unique approaches.”

The National NMT Nursery Awards took place on November 30 and celebrates the achievements of the early years sector.

Jack in the Box Nursery is no stranger to awards - earlier this year, it was named Most Trusted Emotional Learning Environment 2023 for Herefordshire at the Private Education Awards.

And deputy manager Kate Davies was awarded the Expert Early Years Teacher award by the Best Practice Network.

This year, the nursery has also received its formal accreditation for the Curiosity Approach, recognising its commitment to a play-based and child-led approach to learning.

Staff have also been working towards individual qualifications, with Georgina achieving her Level 3 Early Years Special Education Needs (SEN) qualification and Kalata Barratt working towards her Early Years Teacher (EYT) status with the Best Practice Network.
