A TRUCK driver has been banned from the roads after he was caught out in Herefordshire while over the limit.

Tyler Chibnall entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the drug limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in January.

The court heard from prosecutor Tom Wickstead that the 38-year-old, who was represented by defence solicitor George Cousins, had been caught out in Hereford's Belmont Road after getting behind the wheel of an Isuzu Grafter truck while over the drug-driving limit on June 16.

An evidential blood test revealed that he had more than 800 microgrammes of controlled class A drug cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine per litre of blood. The legal limit is 50 microgrammes.

Chibnall, of Llewellin Road, Kington, was fined £266 and disqualified from driving for 12 months, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £106 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
